We are here to help

For those students and parents who are from a non-musical background, finding your way in the world of music can be an alien experience! If you have any other questions which are unanswered below, please use the contact page to ask us.

+Why learn a musical instrument or learn to sing?

Learning an instrument can be a great way to access a part of life that ordinarily might go untouched. It can heighten your senses and make you feel a sense of artistic achievement. It is also great fun being able to play or sing interesting tunes and create beautiful sounds regardless of any age and ability!

+Where and when do the lessons take place?

Lessons usually take place at the student's house. You will therefore need an instrument at home to be taught on.

The lessons are scheduled at a suitable time for you. Usually, lessons take place on a weekly basis on the same day and at the same time.

+How do I book a lesson?

Simply contact us, and we will organise for one of our teachers to visit you.

+How do I pay for the lessons?

An invoice will be emailed to you at the end of each month breaking down the tuition fees for that month. Payment is then made automatically via our secure bureau. The amount debited will vary each month depending on the invoice amount and nothing will be charged if no lessons were given.

+How frequent are the lessons?

Normally, lessons are taught on a weekly basis. We would recommend weekly lessons, but ultimately the decision is yours to make. The teacher can also advise you if you have any questions.

+Are lessons taught in the school holidays?

Lessons are taught all year round including school holidays, provided that both teacher and student are available for the lessons to continue. However, you can cancel a lesson or two if you are away.

+Can I just learn for fun?

Our teachers are equally happy to coach students who are learning for fun, as well as for study. Just let us know what you are looking for!

+Do I need an instrument at home?

Yes, you will need an instrument at home to be taught on and to practise on between lessons. If you do not have an instrument at home, we would recommend visiting a music shop and testing out some instruments to decide which one is for you!

+What if a lesson in cancelled?

You will not be charged for the lesson if you cancel it outside of the 48 hour cancellation window.

If the teacher cancels the lesson you will not be charged for it, and they are expected to make the lesson up to you.

+What instruments do you cover?

We teach across all instruments, so we will be able to help you no matter what your requirements.

+What equipment will I need for the first lesson?

You will need an instrument, a space at home to be taught in, and a handful of positive energy and enthusiasm!

+How do I know my teacher will be right for me?

At Tempo Arts, all our teachers are hand-selected and are recommended to us personally by musicians in the industry, so you are guaranteed to have an amazing teacher visit you! However, if you are not happy for any reason, please let us know and we will arrange a trial lesson with another teacher.
