Day 7

Today was my last day in the office and with the company and it was really lovely to come in and see everybody for the last time.

I was asked to work on the social media, replying to any comments about the festival and thank everyone for coming and taking part. I spent a while on this as the social media received a lot of attention throughout the four days of the festival and I had a lot to go through.

Following this I was asked to go through emails and see if there had been any enquiries, book orders, questions, or simple acknowledgements from the festival that had come in and either reply or put orders into a spread sheet to send to The Poetry Book Society, along with names and contact information so that they can get in touch and send them their products. We had a lot of feedback from the festival and so it took me a long while to get through it all and reply to everybody who had thanked the company. It was really fulfilling to see how much everybody enjoyed the events and how engaged everyone was with the company. They know their audience up here and they have built a good relationship with the Newcastle, as well as national, poetry community.

Theresa chatted away to me throughout my final day, asking me what I had planned for summer, how my assignments were going and other day to day talk. I get on really well with her and I'll be sad not to spend this time with her anymore!

I ran some errands around the building, dropping things off in the office and printing out newsletters to place around the foyer, as well as other odd jobs that needed doing for a while, before heading out for lunch at around two.

When I came back with my food I sat and chatted to Theresa. They didn't have much else for me to do and as it was my last day we all just talked for a long while! Pete joined us half way through and continued talking. I kept my eye on social media as we were chatting and did some little jobs on there, however, it was like the calm after the storm in the office now that the festival was over.

I left around four, saying goodbye and giving every one a hug on my way out.
