After having come to grips with the social media style, log in details, and requirements at the office, Theresa emailed me today and asked me to do some work on the social media from home. I put aside a good couple of hours to do this as she is quite meticulous with what she wants done online and also wants to come across as an active presence. Therefore, I usually try to engage with their followers on all platforms, writing different posts for different sides, finding images, and scrolling through their feeds.
Today I tweeted about the upcoming event on Thursday, namely a conversation and reading with the author Sarah Moss, as well as some general tweets about the festival in May that they really want me to push. Following this I replicated these tweets, editing them slightly for different social sites. I then scrolled through the feeds of all of their social media accounts and interacted with their followers, retweeting, reacting, and liking anything that felt relevant to their page and commenting on those that I was interested in. I tend to stick to poetry related posts or posts by those connected to the business, such as The Poetry Book Society who do a lot with the NCLA.
This took me from about 10 until 12 and I left the social media alone to continue other work, just keeping an eye on notifications as they popped up.
